The Springdalian Mission Statement, Ethos and Vision reiterate our commitment to building society by being involved in our communities. This thread of thought is translated into action through our vast canvas of Community Service Programmes at all class levels because we are of the firm belief that no child who has entered school is too young to start developing skills to develop empathy, sensitivity to others and in developing values of sharing and caring.
At the Primary level (Nur – V) children become aware of the members of society around them and discover ways of helping those who are in need. They clean their own classrooms and learn to recognise the contribution of the manual worker in Society and practicing ‘Dignity of Labour’. By the time students enter the Middle School (VI – X), they are introduced to the School Literacy Programme. Literacy Awareness is created by the Staff Coordinators for literacy in the Middle School and the Social Work Department. Growing-up issues are addressed and Adolescent workshops are held. ‘Bullying’ problems are addressed and Campaigns are initiated.
All students of the Senior School (XI and XII) are involved in Community Service Programmes with outside agencies and within the school as a part of their curriculum. The basic objective of the programme is to sensitise them to the social issues groom them address these social issues and work for the community development programmes. Every student completes 50-60 hours of Community Service in their tenure in XI and XII.
An integral part of our education is to develop skills of sensitivity, empathy and awareness towards the wider community. Community Service, Annual Blood Donation Camps, Literacy Campaigns and working with NGOs and Social Agencies are all a part of our students educational programmes.
